Abstract: | Behavioural di®erences between women and men have gained momentum in economic experiments. Also, results from other disciplines reveal disparities in social preferences and moral orientation. In contrast, relevant findings on justice evaluations are scarce. The present investigation uses two questionnaire studies to contribute to this field. Firstly, the acceptance of an equity axiom that underlies Rawls´s di®erence principle is examined. Secondly, additional responsibility aspects are considered. Results are mixed and seem to depend on subjects´ age and the degree of identification with hypothetical groups. If gender differences occur, women more often support the worse off individuals initially, but revise their decision, when other alternatives become more attractive. ... |
